Psychological Assessment & Report

1. Psychological Assessment

We offer psychological assessment as:

  1.  Part of the initial process in our ongoing therapy o
  2. stand alone session.

Psychological Assessment as 'part of on-going therapy'

Bearing in mind that people are uniquely different and their presenting problems are often peculiar,  when necessary , we offer psychological assessment as part of our client's on-going therapy.

The initial psychological assessment helps us identify any psychological or mental health, personality and/or behavioural problems that may underpin client's presenting problems. The comprehensive assessment, therefore, enables us to:

  1.  Gain some understanding who you are as a person,
  2. Explore the peculiarities of your presenting problems (especially in cases of moderate to severe mental health problems),
  3. Collaboratively decide the treatment/therapy modalities for your presenting problems (models of therapy, whether combined interdisciplinary approach will be required, whether or not counselling is the appropriate route to take in resolving the presenting problems,
  4. Set out your therapeutic goals.
  5. Identify your internal strengths which can be tapped into while resolving your presenting problems.

After the initial assessment, we will discuss with you the information that we gathered  and together we will agree on the best possible counselling option for your problems. Depending on your presenting problems, the appropriate therapist/counsellor will be allocated to you.

If you have any particular therapist in mind or any therapist preference, it will be considered in allocating a counsellor to you. The psychological assessment session fee is paid separately from the subsequent therapy sessions.

Psychological Assessment as a 'stand alone'

We also offer psychological assessment as a stand alone service to clients. The stand-alone psychological assessment is often requested by

  •  external counsellors and other healthcare professionals for clients/patients
  • individuals or their families,
  • schools/colleges for staff and/or students,
  • workplace/organisations for staff

At the end of the stand alone psychological assessment, an assessment report is written and discussed with the client. If a third party is involved, the result will be discussed with the client (where possible) before it is sent to the requesting party.

The psychological assessment and report writing are paid separately. Please see our fees for more information.
